Moments that Matter

Everybody knows that life is hard. The bigger question is: what lessons will you learn as you go? Every painful, challenging, trying time contains a truth or an insight that will grow you if you let it. It’s the old, “get bitter or get better” idea. I’m especially aware of that right now because my father passed away about a month ago. At 94, his life was full and he passed with his three children and other loved ones by his side. Happily, he’s with my mom now; he was at peace and ready to go. But, deep sadness comes with it; our family misses him dearly. Every day reminds us that things will never be the same and that life is not a dress rehearsal, as they say. None of us gets a do-over. Important, “never again” moments are so easy to miss and we can’t get them back.
Far more than the mistakes we’ve made, most of us will regret the things we wish we’d said, things we should have attempted, the moments we let pass, sunrises we slept through. They won’t come again.
As a couples therapist, I know that only too well. I often see partners who love one another deeply, but don’t know how to connect. So, they slowly drift apart, avoiding things they know they need to address, but don’t know how. They hurt one another and push each other away. They sometimes look back after years at what they lost for lack of the courage or confidence to do something different. And a precious relationship dies for no good reason. Then it’s gone.
I can’t think of anything sadder.
I want to help couples maximize those moments, moments to connect, to heal, to turn toward one another instead of turning away or turning against. Sometimes, even a small move, a simple conversation instead of a confrontation, can change the whole trajectory of a relationship. That’s why I believe in Hold Me Tight®️. Hold Me Tight®️ is about making the most of the moments that matter, that help couples find each other and build safety and trust to last a lifetime.
Hold Me Tight®️ is a two day couples workshop that equips couples to trade conflict for connection. Love—and the ways love can go wrong—really does make sense. Attachment science has given us the tools to understand love. And what we understand, we can change. Hold Me Tight®️ is rooted in attachment science and the tenets of Emotionally Focused Therapy. It’s the gold standard for relationship health. Hold Me Tight®️ has produced the best results in the business over time.
Hold Me Tight®️ isn’t therapy. It’s low key. It’s fun; couples go at their own pace, no one is put on the spot and they leave with a road map for finding the connection we all seek.
I lead Hold Me Tight®️ workshops because I’ve seen what they can do. Two days can make a lifetime of difference. Hold Me Tight®️ will help you make the most of the moments that matter with the one that matters most to you. And the best news is that our next workshop is this week! Come join us in New Smyrna Beach, FL this Friday and Saturday, May 29 & 30, in a beautiful venue right on the beach. All the details are at www.hmtcouplesworkshops.com.
Someone said, “Life isn’t about the number of breaths you take; it’s about the moments that take your breath away.” Hold Me Tight®️ can be one of those. See you there!
